On Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th they will host Aisteoirí Chrónáin as they perform the Beithilin Beo or Live Crib from 14:00 - 18:00. Construction of the life-size stable is done with support from the local scouts in the traditional way without nails or drills. Come and see the live animals and take an hour out from the busyness of the Christmas period to reflect. This is a free event but donations can be made if desired.
The Official Lighting of the Christmas Tree by the Mayor of South Dublin County Council will take place on Wednesday, December 5th, at 17:00. The venue for this free event is the Civic Offices, opposite the Mill Centre. The RAMS choir will provide music and tea and mince pies will be served afterwards.
Monday 12th will see a Festive Carol Service in the Church of the Immaculate Conception (the big church) in the village at 19:30. All are welcome to this free event and a collection for the Capuchin Day Centre will be held on the night. The always excellent Clondalkin Youth Band provide the music and will be joined by live singers.
We will continue to add information on more Christmas events in the area as we learn about them. If you know of events you can let Sinead know in the parents room.
