During this time the South Dublin County Sports Partnership will be offering a FREE physical activity session for parents who would like to boost their activity levels.
This session will be held locally and last approximately 1.5 hours. The aim of the session is to:
- inform and motivate parents on how to increase their activity levels
- offer some simple practicals for them to do
- provide them with participant notes
Following on from the session a short 4 week Pedometer Challenge could be organised for the participants.
Later on in the year participants are invited to joined Walk Leader training and it is hoped that walks could be organised to coincide with the Operation Transformation programme on RTE in January 2015.
This programme was rolled out to 45 leaders from 22 schools last January and was very well received.
Finally in Spring 2015 SDCSP hope to offer games/activities training to parents who would be interested in helping teachers with activities such as Active Schools Week.
All of these parent activities can be used by our school in an application for an Active School Flag award.
If you are interested in attending the session please contact Joan as soon as possible.
There is no obligation on anyone who comes to the session to attend the further training if they do not wish so please don't allow that to put you off!
